If you wish to sterilize a needle of any type at home, note that disinfecting and sterilizing are not the same process.
Disinfection reduces infection risk but doesn’t eliminate it. That’s because disinfection can greatly reduce the amount of bacteria on any object, but does not completely remove it. When done correctly, sterilization procedures can completely remove all types of bacteria and other potentially harmful microorganisms from needles.
Keep in mind that the atmosphere at home settings is not sterile. For a sterilized needle to remain sterile, it must be kept in an air-tight container, which has also been sterilized.
Steps to disinfect a needle at home through boiling:
- Use a pot that is meticulously cleaned with disinfectant soap and hot water.
- Put the needle into the pot and bring the water to a boil of at least 200°F (93.3°C).
- Boil the needle for at least 30 minutes before using.
- Wearing new surgical or latex gloves, remove the needle from the pot with a disinfected or previously sterilized instrument.
- It’s not recommended that you boil needles that will be used for injection. If you must disinfect a syringe needle for reuse, boil it for at least one hour before use.
NOTE:
Needles intended for medical use should be used only one time, and should not be reused. If you must reuse a needle, sterilization can be tried at home, but will never provide a complete, 100 percent guarantee. It isn’t recommended that you reuse syringes. At-home sterilization procedures may dull or bend the fine-point needles on syringes, making injections more painful or difficult.

Good post. But honestly if anyone has to reuse a needle they have no business using aas. If you can afford to buy gear but have no money to buy new needles find another hobby or a better job

This seems like unnecessary risk and work when you can easily and inexpensively buy new needles.
Unless you live somewhere where they're hard to come by, I wouldn't recommend this process.
Seriously ... A box of 100 from Amazon, by the next morning for less than $20 in any configuration that you could possibly need.

Some people do re-use syringes but not the same needle. Having said that, it isn't wise to use the same syringe because plastic can never sterilized 100%, once it has been removed from the packaging. The proper way would be to never reuse the same syringe or a needle ever. If you have extra gear, buy some sterile glass vials with rubber tops and keep it in there.
The only people who unfortunately reuse syringes and needles are drug addicts and homeless.
Reusing syringes and needles is never a good idea. No matter how well you try to disinfect them, there’s always a risk of infection. Sterilization at home is not 100% effective, and even if bacteria are reduced, the environment is not sterile.
Additionally, reusing a needle makes it duller with each injection, leading to more pain and tissue damage. Injections become more uncomfortable and risk causing irritation or scarring.
Considering how cheap syringes and needles are at any pharmacy, there’s no real reason to take this risk when it comes to your health. Stay safe and always use fresh, sterile equipment!
I would definitely not recommend it. Besides the risk of an infection (and I tell you, you don't want an abscess in your muscle. It is REALLY painful. Been there, done that) the needle gets blunt quickly if you use nowadays common multivials. Pushing the needle through the rubber stopper is what makes it blunt. I'd even use one needle to fill the syringe and then switch to an unused one to make the shot.
