2026 Tournament of Champions Pro
The next weekend of pro bodybuilding continued on September 5, 2026, in San Diego, California, with the 2026 Tournament of Champions Pro for the IFBB Pro League Men's Physique Division.
It was organised by Tamer El Guindy and was open to the Men's Physique Open division and the Masters division of 40 and over. The event was also a crucial stepping stone for the athletes, who were all competing at a high level in the lead-up to the Olympics, which are a few weeks off.
There were 19 athletes from the United States, Morocco, Iran, Palestine, Spain, Brazil and Croatia in the Open division. After all the judging ended, Mehdi Kabbadj's victory (Morocco) was the biggest of the time, with Jason Huynh and Alexander Toplyn as the other two candidates for the Men's Physique category.

Mehdi Kabbadj Takes the Title
In San Diego, the highlight was Mehdi Kabbadj's three-point dart for Morocco, who got their shot. Kabbadj effortlessly triumphed over an impressive American-dominated team, which featured Jason Huynh, Alexander Toplyn, Damen Evans and more.
Six-point taker Jason Huynh brought Kabbadj three points up in the standings. Alexander Toplyn was second with nine points, followed closely by three-point scorer Alexander Toplyn.
It was also an international result. In a numerical division win by Americans, Kabbadj was the first Moroccan athlete to represent his own country in the IFBB Pro League.

Juan Carlos Madrigal clinched the Masters 40+ title with a 3-point lead to beat Damar Turner and Jake Alvarez. Madrigal earned particular applause, as he was doing it in the Open division as well, and wound up 7th there. Turner also competed in both divisions and finished in 4th place in the Open and 2nd place in the Masters 40+.
Final Thoughts
This year's Tournament of Champions Pro was very competitive in San Diego, California. The star of the night was Mehdi Kabbadj, who won the Open by securing three points and will now be the man to beat. Jason Huynh was 2nd, and Alexander Toplyn finished the Open podium. Juan Carlos Madrigal took the victory in the Masters 40+ division from Damar Turner and Jake Alvarez.
The Tournament of Champions Pro was another big finish for 2026, as it was hosted in early September. San Diego became another interesting destination when it added the International Open and a Masters event. This season has now grown to near its biggest platform; the bodybuilding world has been gearing up for the Olympia weekend in Las Vegas later this month.
