I've always struggled with during longer cuts is knowing when a drop in strength is just part of being in a deficit versus a sign that I'm pushing the diet too hard.
I'm usually pretty stubborn about keeping my training the same, but eventually recovery starts catching up with me.
For those who've done longer cuts, do you normally keep pushing the same weights as long as possible, or make adjustments once your strength starts consistently slipping?

I usually try to keep the weight on the bar and adjust the volume first. If the same lifts keep getting worse for a couple weeks though, that's usually my sign that recovery needs some attention.

I’ve noticed the same thing. I usually look at whether recovery and performance are consistently getting worse rather than judging it from one bad workout. Sometimes the weight just feels heavier during a deeper cut.
