Lysine-proline-valine (KPV) is a tripeptide found in nature that possesses anti-inflammatory characteristics. It is a -melanocyte-stimulating hormone C-terminal peptide fragment.
KPV works as an anti-inflammatory agent inside cells, where it inhibits inflammatory processes. KPV can enter the cell and interact with inflammatory signaling molecules directly. It reaches the cell nucleus and, once there, it can suppress inflammatory chemicals and molecules.
KPV is used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis
