Larry Wheels: I Stopped Steroids (Video)

Larry Williams' journey to becoming "Larry Wheels," a 24-year-old social media star, power lifting prodigy, rising bodybuilder, and aspiring strongman, begins on a Caribbean island with a slim teenager lifting a pair of cinder blocks hooked to a broomstick. Williams, the only child of a single mother, had bounced from one temporary home to the next until moving to St. Martin from New York City at the age of 12 to reconcile with his mother, who had momentarily lost custody of him. Williams now claims that two elements drove him to create that first homemade barbell: boredom and bullying.

Williams recalls being a tall and impossibly thin kid with "my Adam's apple bursting through my neck." He also didn't have a place to go to school. His only choices were a French-language school, where he would have been completely lost, or a private school, which his mother could not afford. He spent his days bored out of his mind and attempted to make friends among the native youngsters, who were cruel to him. Williams went to exercise to deal with both issues. The gyms on St. Martin didn't allow anyone under the age of 16, so Williams would do sit-ups, pushups, and pull-ups and lift those homemade weights until he was exhausted. Then he'd pedal his bike around until he was completely weary.

He couldn't go a day without working out after a time. When he returned to New York with his mother, he promptly joined a gym, replacing his homemade barbells with larger and heavier iron weights. And it was here that he discovered his calling

“I realized at age 17 I was already the strongest guy in the gym,” Williams says. “I didn’t want to let this talent go to waste. I started asking myself, ‘What am I here on earth for?’ I wasn’t good at academics, I hated school, I hated studying, and I hated doing homework. My heart always lay in getting strong at the gym. That was all I was passionate about.”

"Using steroids after his recent back injury"

Larry Wheels is one of the most visible figures in the strength community. A king among beasts… Larry “Wheels” Williams is the WRPF world record holder in the 242-pound division. Recently, Mr. Larry Wheels decided to post a video on YouTube where he really opened up about his past (Childhood) family struggles and his current usage of anabolic steroids. This article does not advocate or encourage the use of anabolic steroids by any means. This is an account of Larry Wheels' life where he discusses his childhood steroid use. Larry explains that his journey of bodybuilding started in his teenage. He says that at the age of 14 to 16 he was athletic and used to do active exercises after that he join a gym and started steroids for muscle building and to enhance his performance. He claims that he is still using PED but now he wants to quit the use of steroids. He explains that like everyone else he doesn't know about the cons of PEDs. Larry Wheels said that while using this cycle of steroids, he said:

“I felt miserable; my stomach felt like there was a living rat eating away at my intestines.”

As Wheels gets off steroids, though, he says he now needs to go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because his body can no longer make testosterone naturally. According to a study published in The Lancet, TRT is a treatment for hypogonadism, a condition where the sex glands produce irregular amounts of testosterone. Symptomatic hypogonadism can lead to “muscle wasting and weakness.”He has personally experienced the use of PEDs he says that it helps in muscle building and also improves strength, psyche, and performance. While quitting the use of PEDs he wants to replace them with TRT. TRT according to him is not fast for getting strength and performance but wants this therapy for the time being. His main goal in his life is to attempt 1000 pounds deadlift and for that, he is struggling but he also adds that he is still young and he has a lot of time to achieve his desirous goal. He is at the age of 27 and he is determined that as much as there is a life he will achieve a 1000pounds deadlift. He also claims that it is impossible to attempt 1000 pounds dead lift without PED but he will start such PEDs when he gets to recover from his back injury. He says that he is not in rush he will take his time to make his PR of a 1000-pound dead lift. Before this he tried to attempt such a goal in a rush and in its consequence was that he got his back injury. That's why he says that he is going to stop the PED cycle for the time being and wants to replace it with TRT. And he put the amount of 175mg per week for it. He hasn't forgotten his life goal.
