Biography of Calum Von Moger: Arnold V2.0

“INSPIRATION”

Calum Von Moger, who has been termed the second Arnold, possesses the same amazing genetics and growth potential as the greats to compete with them. Calum is demonstrating that he is a force to be reckoned with by carrying a massive physique in addition to a drive for strength and advancement.

“I’m not interested in any of today’s bodybuilders. That doesn’t appeal to me at all. It’s not what I want to look like, it’s not what I want to be, it’s too much. What I like are the old classic physiques. That’s my favorite. Quality over quantity. Bodies made in the 60’s and 70’s. Aesthetic, with perfect symmetry and proportion. My ultimate goal, would be to build a body like that one day. But then again, probably just a little bit better.” - Calum Von Moger

Early Life

With his five siblings, Calum was raised in a small town in central Victoria, Australia, on a modest farm. The majority of the family's fruits and vegetables were grown by Calum's parents, who also kept numerous small farm animals. Calum learned to respect food and nutrition highly in his upbringing, which likely helped him develop a disciplined mindset.

Calum began his training regimen and passion for the weight room in his native Australia, in Geelong. Calum's brother once asked him if he wanted to go to the gym when he was 14 years old (an old warehouse close to their home). There were rusty dumbbells on the floor and it wasn't a beautiful gym with loads of equipment, but Calum had everything he needed to get the lifting bug.

They may train there after school if the owner left the key in the letterbox. The only way to ensure they could train every night was to sneak in beneath the shutters because the key wasn't always available.

“My motivation comes from the conflagration burning inside me to be the best I can be in whatever it is I put my mind to.”

Perhaps the rivalry between Calum and his older brother, whom he always regarded as stronger and taller, motivated him to lift heavier weights and work out more. Or maybe it was because he grew up seeing himself as a skinny kid.

Calum was also motivated by watching Steve Reeves in "Hercules" and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the popular documentary "Pumping Iron" on television. Whatever Calum's primary driving force, it is obvious that he worked very hard to get his classic design and that he employed many traditional methods.

Training

Calum prefers to lift as much weight as he can to ensure he keeps expanding and maintaining his enormous physique. He mostly concentrates on a 4-day split. Constantly exercising with the purest form imaginable, paying attention to every muscle fiber and strand employed, and making sure that every part of his body is put under the proper level of tension to promote growth.

Calum prefers to employ a pyramid training regimen with big weights and low reps.

This entails basic compound exercises like the deadlift, bench press, squats, and bent-over rows, as well as increasing the weight with each session. Calum has grown so much, and these workouts have helped.

Calum’s workouts are straightforward but also rigorous and intense. Because you'll be lifting such a lot of weight, Calum thinks it's also crucial to make use of your rest days. When exercising in this manner, Calum advises that at least three days of recovery should be spread out over the course of the week.

For cardio, which is not very crucial for Calum because his metabolism burns up the majority of the calories he consumes. But when he does cardio, he frequently goes swimming or mountain biking.

Nutrition

Calum is fortunate to have a quick metabolism that allows him to eat a lot of food and still maintain a trim physique. claiming that his eating strategy is really straightforward and that he just needs to eat more in order to grow more muscle. In addition, if he's cutting, he'll slightly lower his caloric intake overall in advance of a photo shoot or competition.

Watermelon and cottage cheese is one of his all-time favourite meals, which he enjoys at any time of the day or any dish prepared by his friends and family at home like vegetables, potatoes, and meat.

To stay strong in the gym, Calum frequently takes whey protein, BCAAs, creatine, and pre-workout vitamins.

In addition, Calum will supplement his diet with fish oil, taurine, magnesium, zinc, and a glucose powder to feed his muscles. Calum benefits from having a strong heart and nervous system because of this.

“My diet is basically like the food pyramid, except its shaped like a box, and you can throw anything you like in there.”

Steroid Use

He admits to using steroids at various points in his career in a video from October 2019 that was uploaded to his YouTube page and has received more than 1.6 million views. In the video, "My opinion on steroids," he describes how he began working out at the age of 14 and trained organically for six years prior to using steroids.

Von Moger claimed that, despite his mentor's advice at the time, he "took the decision myself" to begin using steroids at the age of 21 in order to advance his bodybuilding career.

Injuries

The three-time Mr. Universe champion's career came to an abrupt end in 2018 after he tore his second left bicep while rappelling off a cliff in Australia. He tried to curl 400 pounds with a weightlifting partner for a film at the gym where he first tore his bicep.

In addition, he suffered a dislocated kneecap and a quadriceps tendon tear in the collision. As a result of his mishap, he had to stop training and lost 50 pounds of his hard-earned muscle.

The bodybuilder admitted he "messed up bad many times".

After falling and suffering a terrible injury that required extensive surgery and being put into an induced coma, some fans worried that Von Moger might never be able to walk again.

Before police cars and ambulances arrived, nearby construction workers reported hearing glass shattering, yelling, and screaming.

Unsettling photos taken at von Moger's home in Geelong, a city southwest of Melbourne, showed boarded-up windows and broken glass on the ground.

Later, large pieces of furniture including a couch and refrigerator could be seen being taken out of the house and loaded into a trailer.

He was in Melbourne's Alfred Hospital for 11 days.

Von Moger reportedly broke his back severely after falling from the second-story window, requiring surgery. He now has a protracted road to recovery, both physically and mentally.

According to Trigilli, doctors kept von Moger in an induced coma for such a long time because of head and brain damage.

"There was a lot of fluid accumulation and "his skull was visibly damaged. They were hesitant to wake him up for fear that, God forbid, there had been substantial damage. If there had been, he might have suffered irreparable harm, and they didn't want that.”

Von Mogero recently released a video of himself on a weight bench, suggesting that he may already be back in the gym as part of his recovery.

Marital Life

The well-known bodybuilder is a husband and father. Currently, he is wed to Shana, a stunning woman. The pair has been blessed with two gorgeous children during their marriage. The actor has consistently shared images of his lovely family on social media. Calum claims that his wife is both his biggest cheerleader and his inspiration.

Most of the time throughout the competition, his wife Shana is visible. Every time he competes against other athletes, she always makes him feel better. It is uneasy to suspect any signs of troubles or challenges in their partnership given their recent romantic history.

Controversy

On January 31, Von Moger was accused of fighting and having testosterone and drugs, including cannabis, in his possession. His use of steroids was the subject of a lot of rumours at the time the news came out. The case was adjourned by the Melbourne court until May 26, 2022 after his first release on bail. The lawsuit may or may not resume this month, depending on the outcome of the most recent controversy.

He had previously been in legal trouble for allegedly brandishing a weapon during a road rage incident. It's uncertain whether the bodybuilder will bring up these legal disputes in court given his most recent injuries.

Championships

Calum began participating in regional competitions after several years of diligent gym work. In 2010, he went on to gain first place in a bodybuilding contest, and in 2011, he was chosen to compete in the WFF Junior Mr. Universe competition.

Calum competed as well and took first place in the NABBA Junior International championships before competing in and winning Jr. Mr. Universe. Calum is currently a resident in Los Angeles, California, where he is constantly preparing for the next major event.

“As a kid, I remember watching Steve Reeves in Hercules. I looked up to him as a role model for my ‘dream’ physique. Now that I have built a nice shape from bodybuilding, kids on social media are looking up to me and reaching out to me on a daily basis.”

Conclusion

Calum is the man to follow if you're trying to get big and swole. By observing how he changed his body to match the traditional shape utilising heavy weights, simple compound exercises, and a calorie-dense diet, you may replicate Mr. Moger's physique.

A physique of this size and quality, though, does not develop over night; it requires commitment and perseverance, but it is attainable.
